Environmental Policy

The Salve Health Ltd is a private limited UK company, based in Gloucestershire, UK. We provide outsourced medical writing and project management services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other healthcare sectors including not-for-profit organisations. The Salve Health Ltd is proud to be working towards becoming a Certified B Corporation business. We have achieved Certified B Corporation Pending status and aim to achieve full Certified B Corporation status by July 2022. We are continually assessed to meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance and public transparency with a legal responsibility to our stakeholders to balance profit and purpose. B Corps businesses are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. The B Corp community works towards reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.

Through our environmental policy we wish to communicate that The Salve Health Ltd Management Team and employees are committed to running the business in such a way that will, as far as possible, prevent pollution and support environmental protection. This will be achieved by being aware of and implementing as far as possible the use of sustainable resources, to mitigate and/or offset our effect on climate change and to protect biodiversity by the elimination or minimisation of waste and pollution, with due regard to all legislation, consents & controls. The environmental impact of Salve Health Ltd is determined, evaluated and level of significance identified and from these we set specific environmental objectives and targets which are published in our yearly B Impact Assessment Report. We are also assessed every three years as part of the B Corporation recertification process.

The Salve Health Ltd operates as a ‘virtual’ agency with all employees and freelance subcontractors working remotely from home offices. All our staff are made aware of our collective and any individual responsibilities for, and commitment to, acting in accordance with The Salve Health Ltd Environmental Policy. We ensure that where possible, our staff source their energy for their home offices from renewable energy suppliers. We ensure that our staff and customers understand and make the most of virtual interactions to reduce travel but where our staff are required to travel, we ensure our business carbon emissions are offset. Our biggest physical resource usage is paper and print materials and we ensure we only use suppliers that have adopted the Forestry Stewardship Councils (FSC) programme. Where possible and practical we ensure that any paper-based materials produced by our suppliers on behalf of our customers are made from recycled materials and are themselves recycled after use. Our goal is to ensure that all other resource usage results in as minimal environmental impact as is practical.

In determining the scope of our environmental policy, we have considered our compliance obligations, the needs and expectations of our stakeholders and the context of our organisation, which are detailed above. This policy is communicated to all staff, suppliers, sub-contractors and all other interested parties (i.e. clients, stakeholders etc.). We want our goals in respect of the environment to be shared as far as possible, and for everyone who deals with us to be aware of them. Signed for on behalf of The Salve Health Ltd.
