- Our client sought to embed implementation science at the heart of its immunoglobulin A nephropathy strategy (IgAN), recognising there was a need to close the gap between evidence and real-world practice to improve patient care in this area
- The challenge was to identify and address real-world barriers to guideline-aligned practice while creating meaningful value for clinicians, the wider nephrology community, and patients
- Significant variation in awareness and implementation of evolving IgAN best practices existed across healthcare professionals
- Barriers to implementation differed between healthcare settings and geographies
- A robust implementation science framework was needed to understand what drives behaviour change, identify barriers, and accelerate the adoption of evidence-based care
Implement
- We partnered with our client to design a national implementation science programme, developing a logic model, success framework and evaluation strategy
- Together, we co-created workshop content, training and delivery processes, enabling 16 MSLs and expert faculty to co-facilitate more than 20 Nationwide workshops

- The programme established a scalable approach to identifying implementation barriers and generating practical solutions to improve IgAN care
- 127 participants across 22 workshops
- 86% of participants surveyed after workshops planned to make changes to their clinical practice
- Workshops rated excellent by participants (Net Promotor Score of 70)
Iterate
- The programme design enabled rollout to as many locations as feasible by the MSL team
- A continuous monitoring and evaluation framework captured feedback throughout rollout, enabling rapid refinement where needed, transforming it from a series of workshops into a dynamic implementation science platform that continues to evolve and expand as understanding and appetite for an implementation science approach grows within our client team and the nephrology community
